Middletown, RI- Carmella M. (Laguidara) Daugherty Mock, 97, of Portsmouth, formerly of Middletown, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI, surrounded by her daughter Mary and granddaughters. She was the wife of the late Glenn Daugherty who died in WWII and the late Floyd Francis Mock, her loving husband of 42 years Born in Oswego, NY on February 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Barno) Laguidara. Mrs. Mock grew up and went to school in Boston. She married Glenn who was killed in WWII and then married Floyd in 1949. Born with a green thumb, she loved gardening and cooking for her family. Carmella was a generous soul who was loved by everyone throughout her life. She was a banquet waitress working for the Viking, Sheraton, and other places around the island. She is survived by her daughters Mary Adams and her husband Jeffrey of Portsmouth, RI, and Linda Mock of Maine, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was the great grandmother of the late Chloe Lynne Adams and the sister of the late Barbara Scanga, Josephine Rosetta, Frances Miscioscia, Jake Laguidara and Samuel Laguidara.Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 9am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Robert Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
