Middletown, RI - Michael Henry LaBonte, 69, of Middletown, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. He was the husband of Marion (Jordan) LaBonte. Born in Newport, RI on April 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Alphonso and Catherine (O'Connor) LaBonte. Mike was a self-employed painter for many years. He also loved spending time gardening and had an uncanny knack for always making us laugh. After working hard during the day he enjoyed time at home in the garden and with his grandchildren. Besides his wife of 48 years, he is survived by his children, Michael LaBonte of Narragansett, RI, Matthew LaBonte of North Kingstown, RI and James LaBonte of Harrisburg, PA, his brother Brian LaBonte of Newport, RI, and his grandchildren, Madison LaBonte, Christian LaBonte and Ava LaBonte. He was the father of the late Tod LaBonte and the brother of the late Kevin LaBonte.
