Dorothy Sweet, 91, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on June 29, 2018 at the John Clarke Nursing home in Middletown.
Dorothy was born in Newport, RI on December 17, 1926, to George Mathewson and Dorothy (Minkler) Mathewson. Dottie was the wife of the late David Sweet. She was a lifelong Newport resident, and a graduate of Rogers High School. Dottie began her working career as a telephone operator, first for New England Telephone then for the Naval Supply Depot; back when a caller would ask for the number, instead of dialing.

In all of life, Dottie's family was most important. she loved her husband and sons, almost to a fault. She was great on advice! She spent the last three years at John Clarke Nursing Home, now she is living in heaven.
