Albert J. Richter

Albert J. Richter, age 58, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away on May 8, 2018.

Albert was born on November 21, 1959, inLackawanna, NY, to the late George Richter and Margaret (Blazevic) Richter.

Al proudly served in the US Navy where he developed his desire to want to be a cook. Known to many around town from his time as the manager of Subway on East Main Road, he was a genuine happy-go-lucky guy. He was always smiling and possessed a great sarcastic sense of humor. Al was an avid Buffalo Bills fan who sometimes found it tough in NE Patriots territory. In his spare time, he enjoyed the water, boating and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his mother, Albert is survived by his siblings, MargaretGarey, George Richter, ArlenePitillo, Rudolph Richter, AnnetteOpiel, Janet Martin, andHeideLipka, his step-daughters, Lisa Hill and DebraLemieux, and his goddaughter, Kirsten Santos.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
