Alfred Gibau

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alfred Gibau, who died on October 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on August 14, 1931, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Alfred was a dedicated technician in the electronics industry and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

Alfred leaves behind his beloved sister, Helen Pushwal, whose enduring love and support were a cornerstone of his life. He also had 3 nieces and 2 nephews, whom he deeply cherished and adored. Alfred will be remembered for his commitment to family, community, and the steadfast values he held throughout his life.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Irene Gibau. He was also preceded in death by his dear sister, Theresa DeCosta.

A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on October 16, 2025 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. A burial will follow at Island Cemetery in Newport.
