Alfred Henry

Alfred Henry, 81, of Silver Creek Manor Bristol, formerly of Barefoot Bay Florida, died Monday, August 19, 2002 at Silver Creek Manor Bristol, RI. He was the former husband of Dorothy Voges Van Gieson of Somerset, MA and Joan Henry of Indiana. Born in Queens, NY on August 18, 1921, he was the son of the late Alfred and Ruth Reinhardt Henry. Mr. Henry worked as a bartender at the San Su San Restaurant in Long Island, NY for 10 years, and prior various restaurants in the Long Island area, after working at the San Su San he drove school buses on Long Island. As a young man he enjoyed sailing, scuba diving, sky diving, motorcycle riding and he was also a water ski instructor. He is survived by his son Keith Henry of Middletown, RI, his grandson Michael Henry of Middletown, RI, and his granddaughter Crystal Henry of Middletown, RI.He was the brother of the late Gay Olson. His funeral will be held on Friday, August 23, 2002, at 11:00AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
