Obituary

October 16, 2026, just ten days shy of her 92nd birthday. Born on October 26, 1934, in Grenada, Mississippi, Anne lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her work, and the things she loved.

Anne graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Religion and Philosophy. She spent many years working at NUWC and Keisler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, where she proudly contributed to the service of her country.

Following her move to Rhode Island, Anne continued to enjoy the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. An avid reader and gardener, she also enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, and had a special affection for animals. Her love of nature and the companionship of animals remained important parts of her life.

Anne is survived by her sons, James Longcoy, Kent Rudasill and Randall Rudasill; her daughters, Loretta Coffey and Karen Leonard; and her daughters-in-law, Maureen Longcoy, Ann Rudasill and Missy Rudasill. She will be missed by her 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Kent; and her brother, George Kent Jr.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026, 2:00pm-4:00pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter or an animal welfare organization of the donor's choice, in honor of Anne's lifelong love of animals.
