Anne Boddie Shattuck-Dressler, 99, died October 26, 2011 at St. Clare Home in Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Gordon Boice Shattuck for 53 years and Frederick Martin Dressler of Minneapolis for 15 years.Born Wilmette, IL on October 9, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John Bennett Boddie, a writer of many genealogical books on the Boddie Family, and Emma McCall Boddie.She is survived by her son, Arthur Bennett Shattuck and his wife, Marianne, of Newport, RI; son-in-law, Everett Douglass Ayer of Lexington, VA; a brother, William Boddie of Lakeside, OR; 6 grandchildren, Julie LaComb of West Greenwich, RI, Jennifer Shattuck of Long Island City, NY, Joanna Shattuck of Brooklyn, NY, Jeremy Shattuck of Newport, RI, Elizabeth Ayer of Astoria, NY and Susan Ayer of Monrovia, CA; granddaughter-in-law, Wendy Coy; grandson-in-law, Ronald LaComb; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lanette LaComb, Stanleigh LaComb and Evette LaComb. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Ayer, and brothers, John Boddie and Oliver Boddie.Anne enjoyed golf, traveling and dancing. During her lifetime, she resided in West Springfield, MA, Woronco, MA Palmetto, FL and North Kingstown, RI. She was a member of the Blandford MA Country Club for over 50 years.A family burial will be in the Poquonock Cemetery in West Springfield, MA on Thanksgiving Day weekend.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Clare Home, 309 Spring Street, Newport, RI 02840 where they provided excellent care for Anne during the last 3 years of her life.
