Anthony E. "Tony"
Faria
June 21, 1947 – May 31, 2026
We are saddened to announce the passing of Anthony E. Faria Jr., known fondly as Tony or Squeaky, who left us peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on June 21, 1947, in Newport, RI, Tony made his home in Portsmouth, RI where he built a life filled with love, hard work, and great memories. He later moved to Blenheim after the passing of his late wife Elaine M. Faria.
Tony kickstarted his work journey at Carnegie Auto Supply before dedicating an impressive 39 years to General Dynamics Electric Boat. Even after hanging up his hat there, his passion for construction kept him busy, working part-time with Mello Construction and later with JAM Construction. He truly loved what he did.
When he wasn't busy at work, Tony cherished spending time with family, especially watching NASCAR races with his son, Michael. Those moments were a highlight for him, creating memories that will be held close by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved children, Tami Silvestri and her husband Kevin of West Warwick, RI, Michael Faria and his fiancé, Melissa Olsen of Exeter, RI, and a granddaughter Gwen Faria. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Michael Faria, and sister, Carolyn Cordeiro.
Tony is reunited in spirit with his late wife, Elaine, and his parents, Anthony and Adeline (Soares) Faria.
Funeral Services will be private.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible staff at Blenheim for their compassionate care and support. Their kindness brought comfort to Tony and his family during these last few years.
Tony will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
