Anthony Souza

- Anthony Souza, 78, of 486 Broadway Newport, died Saturday, April 27, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.He was the husband of the late Evelyn Corey Souza. Born in Middletown, RI on February 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Jesse and Philomena Souza. Mr. Souza was a Driver-Packer with J.L. Maher Van Lines of Newport for 40 years. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre, with General Patton?s division, as a tank driver. He is survived by two daughters Jacqueline Delaney of Portsmouth, RI, and Catherine A. Souza-Moore of Middletown, RI, a grandson Michael Delaney Jr. of Sunapee, NH, a granddaughter Jacqueline M. Mitchell of Newport, NH, and three great grand children. His Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2002, at 11:00AM in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
