Antone F. Rodrigues

Antone Rodrigues, 91, of Middletown, formerly of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Royal Middletown. He was the husband of the late Louise (Leander) Rodrigues. Born in Tiverton, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Maria (Soares) Rodrigues.

Antone served in the Army during the Korean War, he went on to work for the Town of Middletown in the Public Works Department for many years. He was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and their Holy Name Society. Antone enjoyed playing the harmonica and was an avid BINGO player.

He leaves his sisters, Irene Escobar and Lena Gomes both of Middletown as well as six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Antone was the father of the late Clara Nunes and Mary Oliveira and brother of the late Joseph Rodrigues, Manuel Rodrigues, Theresa Levesque and Alice Ferreira.

Calling hours will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.

His funeral will be Saturday, at 10:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway at Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery.
