Barry N. Schubert

Barry N. Schubert, 71, of Portsmouth, RI, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at home.He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judith A. Schubert and his son, Christopher M. Schubert. Survivors also include his brother, Arthur A. Schubert, Jr. of Reno, NV and three nieces.Barry attended Penn State and then enlisted in the US Navy serving as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He worked for Raytheon Submarine Signal Division for over 30 years. When he was with Raytheon, Barry and his wife were married in Chitose, Japan and lived there and in Guam. After retirement from Raytheon, he worked for two school bus companies in Newport, First Student and then Durham, and especially enjoyed the youngsters he met. Barry loved all animals, especially dogs, and flying radio controlled airplanes and drones. He also enjoyed playing games, especially dominoes and poker.Following his wishes, there will be no visiting hours or services.
