Beth Lillian (Norman) McSherry-GoyetteOctober 23, 1962 - November 22, 2018Beth Lillian (Norman) McSherry-Goyette of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on November 22, 2018 at home and surrounded by loved-ones, after a long and courageous 7-year battle with lung and brain cancer. She was 56. Beth was the beloved wife of Jeffrey A. Goyette and daughter of the late John J. and Ernestine Norman. She was the loving mother of daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth and Bonus Mother to sons Corey Allen and Cameron Joseph. She also leaves behind her devoted dog, Miss Sadie.Beth was born in Holbrook, MA and moved to Rhode Island in 1996. She was the Executive Administrator at the Greater Providence Board of Realtors for many years. Her life was focused on caring for her family, with a special love of entertaining, cooking, gardening, traveling, and laughter. Ever since she was little, Beth loved being on the water, from her family home in Falmouth, MA to the weekends spent on Marthas Vineyard with Jeff on their boat, even to her vacation home in Port Charlotte, FL, she was never far from the ocean. Because of this, Beth got involved as a patient volunteer with Sailing Heals, a non-profit organization providing "patients and their caregivers a spirit-lifting day at sea.Along with her husband and children, Beth is survived by her sisters, Melissa (Norman) Horne and Julie Norman, her brother-in-laws, Daniel Horne and Carlos Souza, nephew Ian Horne, and her late Sister and Brother-in-Law Joanne and Edward Jagielski, as well as many true and loving friends.The family would like to thank the hard-working doctors, nurses, and faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, as well as the staff from Beacon Hospice who kept her comfortable and at peace during her last days at home.Calling Hours will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4pm-7pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sailing Heals, www.sailingheals.org.
