Beverly R. St.Pierre

Beverly R. St.Pierre of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023 surrounded by her family, after a short illness. Beverly was 93 years old. She was married to the late Armand St.Pierre.

Beverly was born in Bronx, New York on December 1, 1929 and was the daughter of Norman and Minnie Newman.

As a young woman, Beverly worked as an Executive Secretary at National Broadcasting Company (NBC) in Manhattan. In 1959, she married Armand St.Pierre, whom she had met and fallen in love with while vacationing on Block Island. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada and made their home in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. After their daughter Norma was born, Beverly dedicated her life to being a loving mother and then a grandma. She excelled at both.

Beverly was Vice President of Self Help for the Hard of Hearing (SHHH), Sargent Chapter (Rhode Island) from 1991 to 1993. As a result of her advocacy for SHHH, she received a Governors Award as well as an Award of Gratitude. Beverly was also an animal lover. She spent several years volunteering at the Potter League for Animals where she walked dogs and cared for cats.

Beverly had a passion for travel and exploring new places. She was always ready for a spontaneous day trip to a museum or an outdoor concert. She enjoyed boating and spent many summers swordfishing with her husband, Armand, on their cabin cruiser. Beverly was fond of dining out with her family, especially at buffets.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Armand St.Pierre, her parents Norman and Minnie Newman, her sister Rose Stone, and her Persian cat Daphne Delilah.

Beverly is survived by her daughter Norma Alix and her husband Peter Alix, her grandson Benjamin Mosher, and her granddaughter Ava Mosher, all of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She is also survived by her nephew Edward Stone of New York, her nephew Robert Stone of Pennsylvania, and her stepdaughter Paris St.Pierre of Little Compton, Rhode Island. Beverly was also survived by her granddogs Smokie Josephine and Blossom.
