Blanche (Barbara) A. TuckerBarbara Tucker, age 82, passed away on December 24, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Richard S. Tucker for 29 years. Barbara was born in West Bridgewater, MA to Olin and Dorothy Holyoke. She grew up in Fall River, MA and graduated from Durfee High School. Barbara spent most of her life as a hair stylist and day-care provider for young children. She was a loving, caring, hospitable woman with a deep love for her family and strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Barbara is survived by her husband Richard S. Tucker of Lexington Park, MD, her brother George Holyoke of Raynham, MA; sisters Dorothy Holyoke and Carol Prouty of Peachland, NC; her eight sons: Wayne Peterson, wife Cindy, Steve Peterson, wife Jackie, Michael Peterson, wife Hope, John Peterson, wife Lisa, Richard Peterson, Glenn Peterson, wife Lisa, Robert Peterson, and Jamie Peterson. She was pre-deceased by her loving daughter Tamara Eva Eckersley; sister Pauline, and brothers Olin Junior, Richard, Robert, Billy, and Thomas Holyoke. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prison Fellowship Ministries via www.prisonfellowship.org.Calling Hours will be Friday, January 4, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Conner's Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, at 10:00 AM at Kings Grant Fellowship, 1000 W Main Road, Portsmouth, RI with burial to follow at Trinity Cemetery, Portsmouth, RI.
