Bruno R. Nesto, 96, of Portsmouth, RI died on May 18, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Barbara (Cronin) Nesto.Born on October 12, 1920 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Richard and Portia (Avellis) Nesto. Mr. Nesto was a WW II Navy Veteran and spent 2 years at sea in the South Pacific on a Destroyer Escort. An acclaimed Science Engineer, Mr. Nesto worked for the U.S. Air Force. Between 1960 and 1980, he was Technical Director of several large Air Force Electronic Systems in Bedford, MA. From 1980 to 1986, Mr. Nesto was Senior Engineer Scientist for RCA and GE in Burlington, MA. He was a licensed airplane pilot and loved his time spent flying. He also enjoyed boating and riding motorcycles. In his later years, Mr. Nesto participated in the Circle of Scholars (World Events) at Salve Regina for 17 years. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mr. Nesto is survived by his children, Jeanne Nesto of Dartmouth, MA, Barbara Nesto of Sandia Park, NM, Richard Nesto of Sandown, NH and Gregory Nesto of Franklin, TN; his brother, Anthony Nesto of Bradenton, FL; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey Coffin, Victoria Nesto, Lincoln Nesto, Eliot Nesto and Erika Nesto. Funeral services are private.
