Obituary

Middletown, RI - Carolyn I. Frye, 2026

Born in Portsmouth, RI on February 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Elsie (Watson) Perry.

Carolyn grew up in Portsmouth, RI and was a graduate of Rogers High School, class of 1961. She married the love of her life Gary R. Frye in 1972. Carolyn was a devoted past communicant of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth and volunteered her time there serving as Soup Kitchen coordinator, Vestry clerk, counting offerings, lector, and more. She also loved her volunteer time at Visiting Nurses and Child and Family Services. She was a member of the Sandpipers Ladies Club and Salve Circle of Scholars.

Carolyn was employed at Raytheon for 39 years and retired in January 2005 as a Technical Writer/Editor. She was an avid lover and supporter of animal causes. Her "pet" charity was Potter League for Animals, though she maintained memberships in many animal charities. She loved volunteering, long walks, golf, reading, friends and just being alive. Carolyn traveled extensively (dragged kicking and screaming by Gary). She had a big heart and would help anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her stepson Mark Frye and his wife Trish of Florida, stepdaughter Barbara Frye and her husband George of Pennsylvania, four step granddaughters, one step grandson, and great grandchildren; a niece Lisa Moore and husband Norman of Florida, sister-in-law Linda Perry, nephew Stephen Kuttner and wife Lisa of Portsmouth, and nephew Wallace Perry of Newport. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Gary, her sister Florence (Fluffy) Kuttner and husband Robert and brother Wallace (Wink) Perry.

Visiting hours are omitted.
