Carolyn Lois Turner, 91, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 15, 1934, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Harold Hallam Turner, Sr., and Lillian Elizabeth Alsop Mowbray Turner.

Carolyn was raised in Fall River and Tiverton, and she was a 1952 graduate of Rogers High School in Newport. She raised her children in Portsmouth and Newport.

Carolyn was a lifelong homemaker. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who brought snark and humor to everyone she met. She loved to sing her "little ditties" and whistle old tunes as she went about her days. She was a talented knitter, watercolor artist, and jewelry maker. She was also an avid reader, puzzler, and solitaire player. Her TV was always playing a Hallmark movie, even when she wasn't really watching. She was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts when her children were young. She was also a youth group leader at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth and a volunteer at St. Mary's thrift shop. In addition, she was a caregiver for children in need through the Rhode Island Foster Care Program for many years. In her later years, she stayed active as a Senior Companion in Newport County. She enjoyed her many travels around New England, especially New Hampshire. Her favorite pastime of all was spending quality time with her family and her canine companions, especially her precious Papillon, Lucky.

She is survived by her children, Michael Pimental (Dana), Patricia Cofield, Christopher Pimental, Holly McCulley (Frank); her grandchildren, Adam Pimental (Haley), Michael Pimental (Carla), Christopher Taber (Jennifer), Holly Taber, Taylor Cofield, Joshua Pimental, Madison Pimental, and Alexis Cortorreal; and her great grandchildren, Neveah Pimental, Noah Pimental, Brady Pimental, Matthew Pimental, Makayla Pimental, Reagan Taber, and Sterling Taber. She also leaves behind her cousin, Sharren Boff Frazier, and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Besides her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her infant son, Joseph Stephen Pimental; her former husband, Jack Pimental, Jr.; her siblings, Marjorie Turner Chase, Harold Turner, and Stewart Turner; and her beloved granddaughter, Katelin Rose Pimental.

Donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or to the HADDTS Foundation in support of children with CTBP1 Syndrome (haddtsfoundation.org).

A private service will be held with immediate family.

Carolyn's children would like to thank the entire staff at Heatherwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center (now AdviniaCare Newport), the Visiting Nurse Hospice and Palliative Care team, and CNA Shannon Matoes for taking such great care of our mother.
