Charles Edgar Bodemann, Jr., age 92 of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Charles (Charlie) was born on March 25,1933 in Jersey City, NJ. He was the only son of Augusta Henrietta Horn and Charles Edgar Bodeman, Sr. He graduated from Fort Lee High School in 1951 and met the love of his life and High School sweetheart, the late Marilyn Joan Habersaat.
Charles received his bachelor's degree at Stevens Technical College in Hoboken, NJ and his master's degree at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Charles was employed as an Engineer at Pratt & Whitney, in East Hartford, CT until he retired at the age of 55.
He married Marilyn Joan Habersaat on October 15, 1955, and they shared 45 wonderful years together before her passing in August 2000.
Charlie enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes since childhood, playing golf, doing jigsaw puzzles and loved getting together with friends and family. As an engineer there was nothing he couldn't fix. He loved dogs and every dog he met bonded with him. A world traveler, Charles explored many countries including Africa, his favorite, Egypt, China, India, many countries in Europe and he especially enjoyed cruising.
On June 15, 2015, Charles married the second love of his life Janet (Audette) Wolk-Bodemann where they lived in Portsmouth, RI for 9 years until they moved to Tiverton, RI. Charlie's greatest joy in life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, sisters, and nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Lebron and her husband Luis Lebron of Middletown, RI; Chuck Bodemann, III and his wife Debra Bodemann of Berlin, Ma, and his sister, Catherine Carfagna and her husband Joseph of Florida. Charles also leaves behind two grandchildren: Christa (Bodemann) Morse and her husband, Benjamin Morse, great-grandson, Charlie Morse, Chad Bodemann and his wife Shannon (Doucette) Bodemann. He is survived by his wife, Janet Wolk- Bodemann and is predeceased by his sister Doris Hamilton.
Arrangements were private. A joyful celebration of his life will be arranged in 2026.
