Charles Brown Hall

Charles B. Hall, 96, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on May 25, 2018, at the John Clarke Nursing Center.

Charles was born on August 18, 1921, in Natchez, MS to the late Clarke Hall and the late Ida (McCallester) Greene.

He served honorably for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1963, as a Petty Officer First Class. After his Naval career, he worked for the Industrial National Bank in Newport, RI and the Naval Justice School, as a Multilith Operator, retiring in 1980. He later worked as a special security officer at the Social Security Office in Providence, RI.

Charles lived in Lynchburg, VA for a few years before coming home to Newport in 2011. He was a member of the Masons, Stone Mill Lodge #3, (Constantine #14) Shriner. He loved fishing and hunting with his dogs.

He was the husband of the late Myrtle L. (Nelson) Hall. He is survived by four daughters; Floristine L. Baker, of Charlotte, NC, Gloria S. Bernstein of Cranston, RI, Fay Akinmirisi, of Laurel, MD and Charlotte L. Hall-Kiss of Middletown, RI. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maggie McCalla, and his daughters Betty Rice and Jade(Margaret) Hall and his grandson Dason D. Kiss. His legacy is carried on by his grandsons Jackie W. Baker Jr. of Cranston, RI, Brandon Kiss of Middletown, RI and eight granddaughters, Natalya (Rice) Williams and Tamika Rice of Charlotte, NC, Monique Z.(Baker) Moore, of Rock Hill, SC, Nikki A. Hall, of Providence, RI, Victoria E. Bernstein of Cranston, RI, Tiffany L. and Yemi L. Akinmirisi of Laurel, MD and Mariah L. Kiss of Middletown, RI. He is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.

Burial will be private.
