Charles E. Dates

Charles E. Dates, age 69, of Middletown, RI died peacefully at his home Monday, April 17, 2017. Born on June 16, 1947 in Talladega, AL. He is the son of the late Johnny and Carrie (Davis) Dates. He was a ship yard welder for 40 years in the Newport and Quonset area eventually retiring from Senesco Marine in 2014. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Susan (Malone) Dates, sons: Chale Dates; his wife Catalina and their daughter Eileen of TX, Charles E. Robinson of Germany, Kelvin Turner, and daughter Tonjua King both of TN. Predeceased by his Son, Tyrone Dates.Visiting hours will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport, RI on May 12, 2017 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southcoast Visiting Nurse Associations, 200 Mill Rd Fairhaven, MA 02719.
