Charles Joseph Watkins, Jr. 63, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019. Born in Erie, PA he was the beloved son of the late Dorothea Watkins and brother of Susan Watkins, Dorothea OKane, Timothy Watkins, and Patricia Brunelle. He was the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He joined the National Plumbers and Pipefitters Union at the start of his welding career and was also a member of the RI Local 51 Union.
Charlie was a gentle soul, a loyal friend, a snappy dresser, proud to be Irish and the family comedian. He was quick with a joke for every occasion and told the best stories of his own lifes adventures. All children loved him because no matter how old he got, he was one of them in his heart, and they knew it.
The love he gave to those he left behind will stay with us forever.
Services will be private, but to all those wishing to honor his life are encouraged to raise a glass and tell anyone who will listen your favorite story about Charlie.
