Charles R. Sullivan, 80, of Windward Drive, Portsmouth, RI, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at home with his family at his side.He was the husband of Geraldine "Jean" M. (Rothfuss) Sullivan.Born in Newport, RI on October 23, 1936, he was the son of the late John F. and Rose M. (Capochiano) Sullivan.Mr. Sullivan was a graduate of Rogers High School, where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. He served one year in the Marine Corp. Reserves with the 155 Howitzer Battery and served four years in the Air Force as a radio operator serving one tour of duty in Korea. Mr. Sullivan worked as a manager for the former Almacs Grocery Stores managing several stores in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He was the owner of the former Charlie's Good Egg in Newport for 25 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer R. Sullivan and her husband, Timothy Freitas, of Portsmouth, RI; his granddaughter, Kayla Marie Sullivan; his brothers, Jack Sullivan of Ohio and Donald Sullivan of Florida; his sister, Charlotte Leary of Tiverton, RI; and many nieces and nephews.
