Charlotte A. Flynn, 72, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Charlotte was born in Attleboro, MA to the late Charles Bucky Audette and Irene Doris (Martin) Audette.
Charlotte grew up in North Attleboro, MA and Pawtucket, RI with her grandparents Evelyn and Charles Audette. She was a graduate of North Attleboro High School in 1964, and went on to earn her business degree from Johnson and Wales University. As a young woman, Charlotte worked as a secretary of the 10th District Court in Pawtucket, RI. She married John Dennis Flynn and they raised a family in RI. For many years she worked at the Wellington in Newport as well as operating her Cleaning Services business. Charlotte loved exercise and the outdoors, walking, riding bicycles, and aerobics and spending time with her many animals over the years.
She moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and worked for Tricare/Blue Cross. She loved South Carolina, but returned to RI to be closer to grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by children Sean D. Flynn and his wife Kimberly of Brick, NJ and Kathleen Deen of Newport, RI, her siblings Charles Chucky Audette of Conway, SC, Thomas Audette of Conway, SC, Raymond Dodge of Portal, AZ, and Robert Audette of Laguna Hills, CA, Lynn Audette Laguna Hills, CA, and her grandchildren Jonathan Meyer, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Joseph Meyer of Bozeman, MT, Whitney Forrester of Brielle, NJ and Devin Deen of Newport, and two great grandchildren Joseph and Payton Rose Forrester. Charlotte also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Pamela Jean and Susan Dodge and her son in law David Deen.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, with a service held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM, at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI 02840.
