Constance Mary Unangst

Constance Unangst, 80, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on August 24, 2018 at Blenheim Newport.Constance was born April 24, 1938 in Newport, RI to the late Cornelius Shea and the late Catherine (Spollen) Shea.Constance was married the late William Unangst for 50 years.Constance worked for NUWC for 20 years.Constance was a very involved member of our local community. She was a docent for the Navy War College Museum. Constance was an avid golfer and played with the Jamestown Country Club Women's League. She was a secretary for the Democratic Ladies Club. Constance was also very involved at the former Jesus Saviour School. Constance was also part of the Newport Chapter of National Association Retired Federal Employees and the Navy Family Welcoming Committee. Constance loved to travel the world with her beloved husband Bill. When not traveling Constance could be found at her favorite beaches here and in Florida.Constance is survived by her daughter, Lori MacDonald and her husband Stephen, of Portsmouth, her sons, Jeffrey Unangst ,Greg Unangst and his wife, Sarah Unangst ,Janet Ann Jagelski and her husband Edward of Newport.Constance is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Alexandra MacDonald, Molly MacDonald, Ellen MacDonald, Abigail MacDonald, and Adie HigginbothamShe is preceded in death by her husband William Unangst and her parents, Cornelius and Catherine Shea, and her brothers, Cornelius and Timothy Shea.Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 26 th, 2018 from 3-6 pm in Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport.Her funeral will be held on Monday August 27 th, 2018 at 8:30 am from the funeral home, with a mass of Christian burial at 9:30 in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway in Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane in Middletown.Memorial donations may be made to the Military Officer Association of America Scholarship Fund 201 N.
