Daniel W. Harris Jr, 88, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away on August 12, 2018 at Newport Hospital.
Daniel was born in Providence, RI on June 17, 1930, to the late Daniel W. Harris Sr. and the late Kathryn (McCrail) Harris.He was the husband of Pauline (St. Denis) Harris for 59 years. He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy rising to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
Daniel is survived by his sons; David Harris, and his wife Kathleen and Thomas Harris. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Timothy Brackett, Danielle Harris , Katherine Harris , Abbie Harris , and his great grandson Anthony Brackett as well as his companion, Mary Reed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother William and sister Beverly.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 20, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church 1697 East Main Road in Portsmouth, RI.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Avenue in Middletown, RI.
