Dean Carlton Roeske

- Dean Carlton Roeske, 71, of 12 Philips Avenue Middletown, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI.He was the husband of Christina Margaret Seery Roeske of Middletown to whom he was married to for 46 years. Born in Bloomington, ILL on January 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank and Emma Brayton Roeske.Mr. Roeske retired in 1967 from the United States Navy after 20 years of service as a Chief Boatswain Mate. He worked at the Newport Shipyard as a rigger, working on several Americas Cup Boats including the Courageous and the Intepid from 1967 to 1972, from 1972 to 1992 he worked at NUSC. After his retirement he received a citation from the Secretary of the Navy for 40 years of service. Mr. Roeske was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Br. 19 and was a past member of the Green Valley Country Club. He was an avid fisherman and bowler. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons David D. Roeske of Tiverton, RI, a Ret. Sgt. Of the Bristol Police Department, Steven Dean Roeske of Middletown, RI, his daughter Barbara Ann Crisman of Palm Bay, FL, his brother Franklin Roeske of Bloomington, ILL, and four grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at 1:00PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Donations in his memory may be made to the Rhode Island Lung Association, 10 Abbott Park Place, Providence, RI 02902.
