Delord Francisco Medeiros

Delord ?Lou? F. Medeiros, 76, of 30 Linda Avenue Portsmouth, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.He was the husband of the late Marie L.Roach Medeiros. Born in Bristol, RI on February 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Manuel and Chrissi Correia Medeiros.Mr. Medeiros was the owner of the former Broadway Upholstery in Newport. He was an upholsterer for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Evangelical Friends Church in Middletown, the Portsmouth Multi Purpose Senior Center and the Portsmouth Lodge of Masons. Mr. Medeiros was raised in Fall River and moved to Portsmouth in the mid 1950s. He is survived by his son Michael F. Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Diane L. Martucci of Portsmouth, RI, his sister Joan Morais of Tiverton, RI, and six grandchildren.He was the father of the late William F. Medeiros and the brother of the late Joseph Medeiros and George Medeiros. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2002, at 10:00 AM in the Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue, Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the Portsmouth Multi Purpose Senior Citizens Center, 110 Bristol Ferry Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 or to the Portsmouth Volunteer Fire Dpt.
