Dolores E. Kundrat

Dolores E. (Dow) Kundrat, 88, of Warwick passed away, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Sunny View Nursing Home of Warwick, RI. She was the wife of the late U.S. Navy LCDR Reginald Kundrat.Born in Omaha, NB, she was the daughter of the late Birnam Dow and Anita (Giese) Keiding and her late husband Andrew.During WWII, Dolores met Rick at a USO dance and within a year they were married. During his naval career, they were stationed in Guam, Hawaii, San Francisco, Idaho, Puerto Rico and came to settle in Newport in 1963. Dolores worked as a real estate agent for many years at Rosemary Stoner Realty in Newport and at J.C. Penny. Dolores loved animals and was an avid reader.She leaves her three sons Wayne Kundrat and his wife Carol of Peabody, MA, Steven M. Kundrat and his wife Emily of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Bruce E. Kundrat and his wife Kathleen of Warwick, RI. Dolores also leaves her grandchildren: William Ian O'Byrne and his wife Stephanie, Matthew O'Byrne and his wife Katherine, Kevin Kundrat and his wife Carol, Christopher Kundrat, Amie Healey and her husband James, Adam Finkelstein and his wife Anna and Nichole Pike and her husband Timothy as well as six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William Dow and his wife Shirley of West Bend, WI.Dolores was preceded in death by her daughter Diane OByrne and her brother John Dow and his late wife Eileen.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 12 noon in St. Peters Lutheran Church, 525 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
