Donald Duck F. Beattie, 84, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away on, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in Newport Hospital

He was the husband of the late Annabelle Sis (Harvey) Beattie
Born in Newports fifth ward, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Dugan) Beattie.

Duck was a sports fanatic you could almost say he was born with a ball in hand. In the 50s he played for De La Salle. Winning numerous trophies and titles. Whether it was the game of baseball, football or basketball he was a sort after player. He continued his passion playing ball for the Army, traveling all over Japan during the Korean Conflict. His Career path after 8 years in the service moved him into selling Insurancefor John Hancock and later opened hes own Real estate office on Broadway. His charm and warm heart touched many people. We will miss him dearly.

Donald leaves his beloved daughter Grace Louise Delanoy and son Donald J. Beattie and his wife Doreen of Middletown, RI as well as his grandchildren Monique De La Cruz , Ronald Rodrigues , Ashley Rodrigues , Donnie Beattie , Billy Beattie and his great granddaughter Naveyah Marrocco .
He was the brother of Robert Beattie, Kenneth Beattie, and Margaret Peggy Beattie

He was preceded in death by his daughter Gail Rodrigues and his brother James Jimmy Beattie.

Committal prayers will take place Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at St. Columba Cemetery, 465 Browns Lane, Middletown.
