Donald W. Jenkins

Donald DJ W. Jenkins, age 78, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away on August 19, 2018, at Newport Hospital.Donald was born on June 25, 1940, in Newport, RI to the late Charles E. Jenkins and the late Sarah E. (Jenkins) Jenkins.Donald worked as a furniture mover. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, drawing and watching sports, especially his Washington Redskins. A loving and caring family man, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly his grandchildren.Donald is survived by his brother Robert BO Jenkins of Newport, his son, Danny Rose of Newport, two grandchildren Danny Rose and Felicia Rose. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Jenkins.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. His funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home.Burial will take place in the Newport Memorial Park, Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown.
