Donato Thomas Ziurella, born on October 4, 1931, in Stamford, Connecticut, passed away on March 20, 2021. Donato lived a life marked by service, both in his professional career and in his community.
Donato proudly served in the United States Navy from March 27, 1951, until his discharge on March 18, 1955, achieving the rank of Senior Radioman (V-6). His commitment to his country laid the foundation for a distinguished career in engineering with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), where he contributed his expertise for 25 years.
An alumnus of the University of Connecticut, Donato earned his degree in Engineering. Beyond his professional achievements, he held the esteemed position of president of the Sons of Italy for 20 years, fostering a strong sense of community and cultural pride.
Donato is survived by his three beloved children: son Giacomo Ziurella, son Angelo Ziurella, and daughter Catherine Ziurella, who will carry on his legacy of hard work and dedication.
His beloved wife, Doris, recently passed away on July 11, 2026. They are finally reunited and at rest together.
