Donna Louise Gayauski

Donna Louise (Benard) Gayauski, 62, of Portsmouth died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA. She was the wife of Peter Gayauski for 35 years.Born on March 24, 1954 in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of Constance (Bateman) Benard of Portsmouth, RI and the late Raymond Benard Sr. As a young woman Donna worked at the Avid Assembly plant and Egan's Laundry. More recently she ran a home daycare in Middletown. Her greatest love was her family, and Donna was the go-to person for help. She was a great cook, loved spoiling her family at Christmas and she loved her pets, especially her dog Spot.Besides her husband Peter, and her mother Constance, she is survived by her daughter Dawn Keys and her husband Mark of Portsmouth, her grandson, Ryan Keys of Portsmouth, her brother Gilbert Benard and his wife Maddie of Swansea, MA, David Benard and his wife Kathleen of Port St. Lucie, FL, her sister Margie Deveau and her husband Eric of Canton, GA, her sisters-in-law Susan Ferris and her husband Jeff of Middletown and Susan Benard of Oklahoma City, OK, and many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Raymond "Bugsy" Benard, and the aunt of the late Kristen Jorge. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 2-5pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Friends and family are invited to bring in a personal note or memento to be placed in her casket.
