Doris A. Cole

Doris Cole, 91, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away on February 19, 2019.Doris was born on December 30, 1927, in Scituate, RI, to the late Frederick Austin and the late Grace (Atwood) Austin. Doris was married to the late Harold Cole, Jr., for 66 years.Doris worked at Quonset Point during WWII and later as a home health aide. She served as a Boy Scout Den Mother and was an active member of the Happy Hookers of Tiverton/Little Compton. Doris raised six children and welcomed a multitude of family and friends into her home, making wonderful memories and giving all who entered a safe place to land where they knew they would be loved. She always offered her honest opinions and advice and encouraged everyone to keep a good sense of humor, no matter what life brought.Doris is survived by her children; Dale Cole and his wife, Sharon of Ashaway, RI; Kathryn Aguiar and her husband Brian of Westport, MA, Patricia Campion and her husband, Robert of Tiverton, RI; Debra Pereira and her husband, Joe, of Pembroke, GA; Barbara Lewis and her husband, Keith, of Tiverton, RI and Rebecca Priest and her husband, Gary, of Westport, MA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11:00am, at Amicable Congregational Church, 3736 Main Road, Tiverton.Donations in her memory may be made to Family Pet Advocates, c/o Barbara Lewis, 354 Lake Rd., Tiverton, RI 02878.
