Doris C. Hasting

Doris C. Gaines Hasting, 80, of Portsmouth, passed away, Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Hasting.Born in Oneida, NY, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Irene Smith Gaines.Mrs. Hasting was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. Her memberships include the Portsmouth Senior Center and Quilters By The Sea.She leaves her children, Deborah Proffitt and her partner Donald Watson of South Kingstown, Douglas Hasting and his wife Susana Tavara of Weymouth, MA, Diane Pesaturo and her husband Tom of Seekonk, MA and Denise Dvorak and her husband Daniel of Cambridge, MD. She also leaves her five grandchildren, Victoria Pesaturo, Garielle Pesaturo, Joshua Dvorak, Rachel Dvorak and Nathan Dvorak. Doris was the sister of John Gaines, Paul Gaines, Michael Gaines and Catherine Johnston.She was preceded in death by her sister Johann Valentino.Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Anthony Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
