Doris E. Ziurella

Doris E. Ziurella, born on January 1, 1938, in Stamford, Connecticut, passed away on July 11, 2026. A cherished mother and esteemed member of her community, Doris leaves behind a legacy defined by her dedication to her family and her professional life.

Doris was a proud graduate with an Associate Degree, beginning her professional career at a young age as a head teller in Stamford at just 19 years old. She devoted 35 years of her life to serving her clients as a tax professional with H&R Block, where her expertise inspired trust among those she served.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Doris was actively engaged in her community. She served as Treasurer for the Sons of Italy, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and tradition. Doris also enjoyed participating in a local bowling league and playing bocce ball.

Doris is survived by her three beloved children: son Giacomo Ziurella, son Angelo Ziurella, and daughter Catherine Ziurella, who will continue to honor her memory and the values she instilled in them.

Calling Hours will be at Memorial Funeral Home at 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, on Thursday, July 16 from 4-7pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Newport Memorial Park at 123 Howland Ave., Middletown, RI, on Friday, July 17 at 10:15am.

Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband Donato Ziurella, parents William and Christina Oster, brother William Oster, Jr., and sister Gladys Curry.
