Dorothy E. Allhands

Dorothy E. Allhands, age 95, of Middletown died Friday, December 8, 2017, in Newport. Dorothy was born August 10, 1922 in Newport, RI, the daughter of the late George T. and the late Susan (Spingler) Lewis. She was the wife of the late Byron T. Allhands. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, knitting, bingo, T.V., car rides, and hot fudge sundaes from the Newport Creamery. She is survived by her niece, Donna Lewis Nannini of Newport, RI, grandniece, Ashley M. Welch, grandnephew, William Scott Brailey, and great grandniece, Mackenzie Welch. She is also survived by her nephews, Emery A. Lewis, Jr, Edward R. Lewis and nieces Mary Kathleen Cappuccilli and Lori Torgerson, great nephews Justin P. Welch and Ryan T. Welch and great great grand niece AvaLeigh Michele Welch, as well as several nieces and nephews from CT.She was predeceased by her brothers, Emery A. Lewis and Bertram Lewis.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 10:30am, in St. Lucy's Catholic Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, followed by her burial at Middletown "Four Corners" Cemetery, Corner of Turner and Wyatt Roads, Middletown.
