Douglas Levesque

August 27, 1949 — January 4, 2026

Douglas Kenneth Levesque, affectionately known as "Kenny Levesque," passed away on January 4, 2026, at his home in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He was 76 years old.

Kenny was born on August 27, 1949, in Fall River, Massachusetts. A lifelong resident of Portsmouth, he was deeply rooted in the community he loved and proudly called home. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1967, where he was a standout athlete. Kenny excelled in basketball, baseball, and football and was recognized as one of the better high school athletes on Aquidneck island in the 1960's. In football as a junior he earned a spot on the 1965 2nd Team All Eastern squad and as a Senior was voted on to the 1966 All Eastern 1st Team on offense and defense. Kenny was also named to the All Newport Company Team that same year. During his senior year, Kenny led all scorers on Aquidneck Island and during this time he set a PHS football single game record of 230 rushing yards. In basketball, Kenny had a decorated career, culminating in an outstanding Senior year. During the 1966-67 season he set two Portsmouth High School records in scoring. Ken scored 422 points during his senior year as well as set a single game scoring record of 32 points. For these efforts he was named to the all Newport County Team as well as 1st Team All Division. Also as a Senior, Kenny was an outstanding baseball player for the Patriots, being selected to the All Newport County 1st team as well as 1st team All Division. In recognition of his exceptional athletic achievements, he was inducted into the Portsmouth High School Hall of Fame in 2019. He later attended Wentworth University, pursuing studies in engineering.

Kenny was the owner and operator of Levesque Construction, a business that was highly respected and widely recommended throughout Aquidneck Island. Known for his skill, reliability, and generosity, Kenny truly could fix anything-and if you needed something repaired quickly, he was always the man to call. He never hesitated to help others, often putting the needs of friends, neighbors, and strangers ahead of his own.

He had a deep love for his family, his coffee dates, animals, and the New York Giants, and he enjoyed collecting just about anything, believing that everything might have a purpose someday. Above all else, Kenny adored his children, Alexandra and Christopher, who were truly the center of his life. His pride in them was unmistakable.

Kenny was predeceased by his parents, Lorraine and Arthur Levesque, and his brother, Ronald Levesque. He is survived by his beloved children, Alexandra Levesque of Bristol, RI, and Christopher Levesque of Fall River, MA; his cherished granddaughter, Micaela Pietrefesa; sister-in-law Judith Levesque, nephew Douglas Levesque and niece Melissa Levesque.

A funny, wise guy with a big heart, Kenny was someone everyone couldn't help but love. He was known as one of the most selfless men you could meet-always putting family and community first.

Kenny's kindness, humor, and unwavering willingness to help others will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
