Douglas Michael Owens, Sr.,67, of Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away on February 14, 2019, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
Douglas was born on November 3, 1951, in Newport, RI, to the late Robert Owens and the late Ruth (Evans) Owens. He was the husband of Deborah A. (Bryant) Owens for 48 years.
Douglas received his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Salve Regina Univeristy and joined the Middletown, RI Police Department, retiring as a Detective. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.
Besides his wife, Deborah, he is survived by his daughter, Judith Laramie and her husband Darrell of Middletown, Douglas M. Owens, Jr. and his wife Marika of Fall River, MA, his sister, Pamela Shaw of Amesbury, MA, and twelve grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Owens.
Funeral services are private.
