Huntley and Lelia Hosier on New Years Day, 1930 and while she travelled broadly throughout her life, she always called Rhode Island home.

She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1948, worked for a local photographer, and eventually met her future husband Herb at a Navy YMCA dance in Newport RI. In later years, Edith and Herb split their time between Middletown RI and Daytona Beach FL, and travelled around the United States and Europe. They lived in Middletown almost half a century, and are longtime members of First Presbyterian Church in Newport. At the time of her death, Edith was at the Cortland Place assisted living facility where Herb also now resides.
