Edward Richard Borden

Edward Richard Borden, age 77, of Portsmouth died Monday, March 19, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital of Fall River, MA. Edward was born in Fall River, MA on August 12, 1940 to the late Albert W. and Michalena A. (Kaminski) Borden. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Beth (Hughes) for 43 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Jennifer Borden and her husband John Endrusick of Portsmouth, RI, Jason Borden and his partner Jennifer Phelan of Tiverton, RI and Kane Borden and his wife Emily Casey of Groton, CT. A devoted grandfather, he was the cherished Papa of Jonah Endrusick and Blake Borden. Caring Brother of Viola Jenks, Albert Borden and Thomas Borden. He also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews.Mr. Borden retired from Roger Williams University and enjoyed carpentry and coin collecting. He will be most remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his dedication to his family, his service to our country with the U.S. Army and his exceptional generosity to his community including his many gifts to Hathaway School in memory of his beloved Mary.Calling hours will be Saturday, March 24 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm followed by a masonic service and military honors at 2:00 pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
