Ethel Hazel Godlewski Mello

Portsmouth, RI - Ethel Hazel Godlewski Mello, Portsmouth, RI, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Heatherwood Nursing Home, Newport, RI after a brief battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Manuel Peter MelloBorn in New Bedford, MA on Sep. 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Helen Wilusz Godlewski.Ethel grew up in New Bedford and moved to Portsmouth, RI after marrying her husband.Ethel is survived by her son Dana Peter Mello and his wife Jennifer of Newport, RI, her stepdaughter Diane Allen and her husband Scott of California, her stepdaughter Debbie Romerhaus of Hawaii. Ethel was the beloved and doting grandmother of Cody and Devon Mello of Newport, RI, Corrina Adams of California, Nieko and Kyalo Rogers of Hawaii. She is also survived by her sisters in law Violet Godlewski and Rosa Godlewski both of California, Evelyn Leite of Portsmouth, RI and Delores Houston of Middletown, RI as well as many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Emile Godlewski, Leo Godlewski, Stella Godlewski, Wanda Godlewski and Victor Godlewski Funeral services will be private.
