Ettore Pasquale Passaretti

Ettore (Ed) Pasquale Passaretti, 99, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away on June 19, 2019, in Newport, Rhode Island. He lived most of his life in northern New Jersey, (Paramus, Clifton, East Rutherford and Vernon). He moved to Alabama with his son Steve and his wife three years ago.

Ettore was born on March 1, 1920, in Patterson, NJ. He was predeceased in death by his parents Antonio and Antoinetta (Conti) Passaretti, his wife Juliette (Andre) Passaretti and his longtime companion, Grace Chappa. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Passaretti, Robert Passaretti, and Angelina Collucci.

Ettore received a bachelors degree from Montclair State in New Jersey before beginning a lengthy career for Curtis Wright Corporation as an engineering analysts and purchasing buyer where he retired in 1983.

He was a consummate family man; making all around him feel loved. His secret to life is everything in moderation. He was known to enjoy the horse races and casinos in his retirement.

Ettore is survived by his children, Christine (Norman) Newberry of Jamestown RI, Steven (Jill) Passaretti of Opelika, AL, Daniel Passaretti of Portland OR, and Lori (Victor) Uriz of South Lake Tahoe, CA. Beloved grandfather of Kate Newberry, Michaela (Luis) Botelho, Alexandra (Steve) Saccoccio, Michael (Emily) Passaretti, Amy Passaretti, Jena (Patrick) Erwin, Paul Passaretti, and Haley Uriz, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services are private. Contributions in Eds memory may be made to St. Judes Hospital.
