Francis P. Spillane

Francis P. Spillane, 66, of Newport, RI passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Born in Newport, RI on February 8, 1951, he was the son of the late Jerome Francis and Elizabeth Ann (Brennan) Spillane. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Spillane of Newport, RI and Michael Spillane of Newport, RI; and his sister, Patricia Carney, of Middletown, RI and his nephews Christopher and Thomas Carney, and his niece Sarah Elizabeth Carney. Francis was a graduate of De La Salle Academy. He received a degree in School of Business Administration from Bryant College and a Master's Degree in Education from Rhode Island College. He was a real estate investor in Newport County for the past forty-four years and he owned and operated his own business.Francis was a past member of the RI National Guard which he proudly served for 6 years. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport, RI.
