Frank E. Luzzi Jr

Frank E Luzzi, Jr. 77 of Middletown, RI passed away peacefully at home December 2, 2017. Frank was born on June 20, 1940 in Westerly, RI. He was the son of the late Frank E Luzzi and Mary Luzzi (Galucci). He was a loving brother to his two late sisters, Frances and Florence and his brother Louis Luzzi of Westerly, RI. Frank grew up in Pawcatuck, CT where he graduated from St. Michaels School and Stonington High School. He attended the University of Connecticut. Frank worked at WT Grant Co and then went on to work for JC Penneys where he was an operations and personnel manager. He retired from JC Penneys in 2002 after 25 years with the company. After his retirement, he joined the Portsmouth RI School Department as the manager of the bus monitors and as payroll manager, a position he held until his death. He was an exceptional athlete in high school and college winning numerous awards as a star football player. He was affectionately nicknamed The Tank by his coaches. He also won the Connecticut state championship for javelin. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and had to put up with the rest of the family who are strictly Red Sox and Patriots fans. Frank was a quick witted, sharp, generous and loving person. He had a laugh that could not be mistaken for any other. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Barbara (White), his step-children Mark Pachico (Kim), Elizabeth Cunningham (David) both of Middletown, RI and Kristin Guyette (Jeff) of West Warwick, RI. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Robert and Gregory Pachico, Kayla Murphy (Terry), Courtney and Ryan Cunningham and his great granddaughter, Brynn Murphy. Calling hours will be held on Thusday December 7, 2017 from 4-6pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway. His funeral service will be held immediately following at 6pm in the funeral home.
