Fred J. Trifero

Fred J. Trifero, who left us peacefully on October 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 25, 1944, in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, Fred was a beloved figure in our community, known for his easygoing nature and love for life.

Fred graduated from Rogers High School and spent many proud years as an engineer with the Newport Water Department. His friends often referred to him as "Corvette Freddy," a fitting nickname for a man who had a deep passion for cars, especially Corvettes.

Over the years, he owned several of these classic beauties, proudly displaying his "PORT" license plate, a nod to his love for Newport and the sea. A master GM mechanic, Fred had a knack for working on cars that left many in awe of his skills. Beyond his technical talents, he cherished the friendships he built throughout his life.

He is survived by his many cousins, who will always remember the good times they shared. Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Evelyn Trifero, and Salvatore Trifero.

Fred will be laid to rest at the family site located at St. Columba Cemetery 465 Brown's Lane in Middletown, RI. Funeral services will be private per Fred's wishes. Fred's spirit will be missed deeply, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Fred - you will forever be "Corvette Freddy" in our memories.
