Freddie Adams Jr.

August 29, 1961 — May 17, 2026

Freddie Adams, Jr, 64, of Middletown, Rhode Island, died at home on May 17, 2026. Born in New London, CT on August 29, 1961, he was the son of Freddie and Geraldine (Imburgia) Adams.

A 1980 graduate of Rogers High School, it was known from the beginning that Freddie was going to be building things. He always had a skill for designing, building, and fixing anything. He began his career as a draftsman at McLaughlin Research, but soon found he needed to be building things, not just drawing them. He started in construction with Reed Remodeling in Jamestown and soon found an opportunity with Kirby Perkins Construction. Here he enjoyed many years of hard work and tremendous pride in every project he was a part of. Most recently, he led the renovation of Castle Hill Inn, helping restore the building after a fire and getting it reopened well ahead of schedule. Freddie took immense pride in his work as a caretaker across numerous homes on Aquidneck Island, approaching each job with a level of dedication and attention to detail that left every property impeccably maintained and warmly cared for.

His other passion in life was the Chevy Corvette. His first Corvette was his father's 1972 that he helped restore, but more importantly, he loved to drive it, every week he was able to bring the Vette around 'the Drive'. Recently, Freddie bought a 2025 Corvette, and enjoyed showing off the evolution of the Vette in two immaculate examples. He brought them to several car shows and always enjoyed the ride.

Freddie is survived by his two sons, Tyler Adams and his wife Abbey of Newport, and Ryan Mayle of Pleasant Hill, MO; his childhood best friend Danny Santos; his siblings Jimmy Adams of Florida, Tracy Fitzsimons of Florida, and Dawn Williamson of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Maximus, Greysen, Ellie, Carter, Gunner, and Ellisa, and his longtime companion Laura Jorge of Newport. Not only was he a devoted father to Tyler and Ryan, but he was also a quiet, steady role model to their brothers, Christian Jorge and AJ Jorge. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews; Erin Dugan, Dustin Dugan, Anthony Adams, Angelina Adams, Katelynn Weaver, Kyle Boiani, Zachary Fitzsimmons, and Nancy Fitzsimmoms. Freddie is preceded in death by his brother Larry Adams, his sister Bonnie Dugan, and his nephew Christopher Adams.
