Gary D. Moss

Gary D Moss, 59, of Newport died Tuesday, September 5, 2016 at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI due to complications from cerebral palsy. Gary, the son of Virginia Moss-Newhall and the late Daniel Moss, was born March 11, 1957 in Long Beach, CA. He lived in many places growing up due to his father's naval career, but called Aquidneck Island his home for the past 45 years. He married his beloved wife Margaret Rose (Medeiros) Moss, of Little Compton, RI on June 25, 1994 and they had 22 years building a blessed life together. Gary achieved a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams University. Later in life, he discovered his passion for flying where he worked his way up to a prep instructor for the FAA written pilot's test. In his own words, "When I am flying, I am free".Gary is survived by his wife, Margaret Moss, his mother Virginia Moss-Newhall and her husband Kenneth, and his siblings Thomas Moss and his wife Donna of Barrington, RI, Karen Krueger and her husband Keith of Ashville, NC.A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 2:00 at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
