Genevieve Wanda Kazin

Genevieve W Kazin, 100, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2018. Genevieve was born on June 23, 1918 in Central Falls, RI to the late Stanley and Bertha (Maziarz) Laczka. She was the loving wife of the late Frank Kazin.Genevieve was pre-deceased by daughter, Marjorie E. Kazin-Boyce ( Milton Boyce), and will be missed greatly by her daughters Linda J. Roy (Albert Roy), Judith K. Cooper (James Studders), Karen F. Kazin (Jan Hagerstrom) and Nancy I Browne (Peter Browne). Her surviving grandchildren include Cynthia Lam (Toby Lam), Alison Roy, Rachel Cooper, Samuel and Jessica Browne. Great Grandchildren are Adrianna, Candace and Nicholas Lam, Alec and Lexi SantosGenevieve grew up in Pawtucket and graduated from Tollman High School in 1936. After marrying Frank, the couple moved to Aquidneck Island, eventually settling in Portsmouth in 1954. Genevieve was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She also enjoyed gardening and travel with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church and the Portsmouth Garden Club. In recent years she was a resident of John Clarke Nursing Center, where she was lovingly cared for by the exceptional staff. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in St. Mary's Church yard 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI at 10:00 AM.Memorial donations can be made to the John Clarke Nursing Centers Activity Department.
