George C. Busse

George C Busse, 86, of Middletown died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Grand Islander Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. George was born April 27, 1931 in South Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Raymond Beane and the late Elizabeth Feiner. He was married to the love of his life, Annie L (Vieira) Busse for 62 years. They loved and supported each other every day. George worked as a meter builder for Newport Gas Company and a Postal Clerk for the Middletown Post Office. He was an avid fisherman in both fresh and salt water. He made his own lures, flies and sinkers and enjoyed repairing fishing poles.He is survived by his wife: Annie L (Vieira) Busse, his children, Barbara Ann Healey and her husband Russell, of Narragansett, RI and John T Busse and his wife Patricia, of Portsmouth, RI. He is also survived by his siblings; Gloria Anderson and her husband Arthur of CT, Hope Green , of Canada and Elizabeth Naro and his brothers , Joseph Zerbus of Portsmouth, RI, Thomas Zerbus of Middletown, his sister Florence Corr of Middletown, his sister Karen Bower of Florida. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. George is predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Busse, and Bill Zerbus and his Aunt Josephine and his Uncle William "Bill" Zerbus.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 28, 2018 from 2-4 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport, RI. His funeral service will be held on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 1100 am in the funeral home.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery Brown's Lane in Middletown, immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 245 Waterman Street Suite 306 Providence, RI 02906.
